  • More than 2,500 jobs coming to Petaluma

    A retail, housing and hotel development that was recently proposed to the City of Petaluma could bring over 2,500 jobs to the area.

    Amys Kitchen, a producer of natural frozen foods, is preparing to open its second manufacturing facility in Santa Rosa, which is approximately 18 miles northwest of Petaluma.

  • Development company purchases vacant acres

    Pacifica Companies, a development company based in San Diego, has purchased three acres of Vacant land in Petaluma. The lots are located at 215 Weller Street and the area is located near the city's future train station downtown and much talk has ensued about what type of development might be appropriate at such a prominent location.

  • Fifth 7-Eleven store opens up in Petaluma

    A new 7-Eleven store opened up this month in Petaluma next door to 76 Unocal on East Washington and North McDowell, marking the fifth 7-Eleven convenience store for the city of Petaluma.

  • Firefighters call for toy donations

    Firefighters in Santa Rosa, which is located approximately 18 miles northeast of Petaluma, are asking the public to make toy donations to their annual campaign that helps put toys under the Christmas trees of children who otherwise may have nothing to open on Christmas morning.

  • Petaluma businesses to open doors for Holiday Open House

    The Annual Holiday Open House in Petaluma kicks off at 11:00 am this Saturday, December 1 in the historic downtown area of the city. Fun activities and events will take place throughout the day until 5:00 pm. Participating merchants will each be hosting individual Open Houses throughout the evening and invite the public to visit their stores. Various merchants will be serving hot cider and refreshments, holding raffles, and advertising sales.

  • Tolay Fall Festival provides fortnight weeks of fun

    The Tolay Fall Festival runs for two weeks every October at the Tolay Lake Regional Park, located not far from Petaluma. This year's festivities kicked off Thursday, October 11 - 14 and will continue into this week, opening back up to the public tomorrow, October 17, and running through Sunday, October 21.

  • Coastal Cleanup Day attracted a large crowd of Petaluma volunteers

    Approximately 100 Petaluma community members showed up on Saturday, September 15 for the yearly Petaluma Watershed Trash Cleanup. The event, which is held as part of Coastal Cleanup Day, was sponsored by Friends of the Petaluma River and the Southern Sonoma County Resource Conservation District (RCD).
